Cabbage Leaf

I don't know what these trees are, but they're in Fremantle. I took about 20 photos of them as there were so many different parts to them - cabbage leaves, asparagus type spears, peppercorn branches and fig shaped fruits. Coulda stood there for hours!

New development in rose growing

Potpourri roses - no more drying in bags and then mixing, you can pick them straight off the bushes as is lol. And no it's not my garden as my rose bushes don't like giving flowers. Bring on pruning season!

Texture?!

I loved the way my neighbour's lemon tree appears so marbled and veined, yet smooth unlike the previous tree.

Pimp my ride

Saw this little one at Hyde Park after work. I was drawn to the pram bcos it looked so old fashioned and I thought it was excellent reuse, recycle, but it's probably a very expensive new one!

Last drink!

Officer I really haven't got the DTs, there was a fairy, see!
PS. I had to crop this image taken at the Uni Tavern, because I couldn't remember whether I asked the young lady's permission to publish or not.

Back to plants cos they stand still

The little Coleus plant that welcomes people to 18b. I don't think I've ever seen one of these flower before or it might just be because it's in miniature and the colours seem that much more intense!

Wind did blow & the rain did fall

Looking over to my neighbour's backyard here in Gossies during the storm and then trying to catch the rain as if spilled off my "patio"

Blue sky mining

I know my boat's out there somewhere. Fremantle docks is the locale.

Autumn

I guess this should've been posted on 1 March, but better late than never! I loved the way these trees (maples I think) and their leaves change and drop. It's quite fun scrunching through the leaves in the park!

Sunset is awesome.

And I love the fact that I get to see this now instead of ramping up for the start of service.

Yay, it's not a botanical!

Thought I might try a change of pace after a coupla beers at the uni tavern. There was a crow perched on here when I started mucking about but he had plenty of time to fly away lol

Roses, roses everywhere

A friend's garden runs riot with roses, but this is the one that caught my eye.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Oh oh

I knew now it was autumn that my new job would mean I had to be out of bed before the sun, but today I saw it. Not the best photo cos I was just stumbling out of bed and should've changed the camera setting from auto but... If nothing else, the flash going off shows up my beautiful bougainvillea.

Tribute to the triathletes

Sorry I couldn't be there today girls - just too sick with the flu :(

Hot, Hot, Hot!!

The chillies and sauces were, but the Araluen Chilli Festival in Freo was NOT, NOT, NOT!

Heart of Gold

Thank goodness for my garden!

Watering someone else's garden does have benefits

Wednesday evening, sun's about to set & no photo

I seriously suck at this taking photos every day but luckily there was inspiration in the front yard. Whilst I hate the honky nuts cos they hurt when you walk on them and they don't break down in the compost heap, they look amazing on the tree and this one was a mere ten metres from the panic station. Phew!!

Sadly the sunset sucked...

But that was ok, I was seduced by how glorious my compost heap looks :) So thankfully today's shoot was saved!

Blowsy but beautiful

Get very few blooms on my rose bushes and the weather is having a deleterious effect as this one was a bud on Sunday night and all over before the sun set on Monday night.

White Line Fever

There's nothing as satisfying as seeing the whites on the line before the weekend is over - means I'll be getting some sleep before work instead of frantically running around trying to get everything done at 10pm.

Sad Sunflower

It WAS only 0830 on Saturday morning but this sunflower made me wonder if this is what I look like when I haven't had a coffee.

No photo for Friday 5 March :(

Woohoo!!

After 3 weeks off from swimming, I finally cracked a kilometre, although I admit that I didn't do a km of walking in the pool as well, but next time :)

It's a bit of a cheat but...

This photo is on the Hastings River (I think) in Port Macquarie. It wasn't taken on Wednesday but was uploaded to the computer and cropped so I'm applying artistic licence :) This view was from the hotel room which was within 5 metres of the river.

Day 2 of Project 365

Argghh! Sitting on the lounge and realised I hadn't taken a pic today. So since most of my friends hadn't seen my new glasses and I love the colour of them, they were the logical option.

And the award goes to...

Nita - probably not as good as the award that you got whilst you were away, but I saw this little one today and I thought of you.
